NASJA Vice President


Dan Egan, first known as a world-renowned extreme skier, is now considered a pioneer of extreme action sports. He appeared in 12 Warren Miller Ski Films from 1985-1994. Powder Magazine named him one of the most influential skiers of our time in 2006.

He has authored four books, All Terrain Skiing Vol I & II and Courage to Persevere, and his latest book, Thirty Years in a White Haze co-authored by NSJA member Eric Wilbur, won a 2022 ISHA Ullr Award and 2023 NASJA Harold Hirsch Book Award.

He has covered three Olympics and is a Boston Globe contributor. His 603Podcast can be found on iTunes, Spotify, and Apple podcast. He is a five-time NASJA Harold Hirsch award winner for excellence in journalism and a NASJA Mitch Kaplan award winner. Egan was inducted into the US Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame in 2017. Dan has planned professional development sessions and recruited new members for NASJA.
