WMS Backup

When NASJA became one organization that replaced the group of regional organizations, the NASJA East Board decided to donate its remaining funds to the New England Ski Museum. That funding was partly used to develop the Museum’s new Eastern Slope Branch in North Conway. The Museum has invited NASJA members to a reception at the new facility and participate in the organization’s Hannes Schneider Meisters Cup race, in a meeting organized in the North Conway region on February 28-March 3, 2019.

Remember when we used to do the races at each of the ESWA/NASJA meetings? Here’s a chance to relive our past racing glory…in a non-competitive thrill-fest.

A program has been put together with the New England Ski Museum starting with a reception at the Museum on Thursday and the FREE participation in the Hannes Schneider activities during the weekend including a Friday night reception and buffet and torchlight parade at Cranmore Mountain Resort and a breakfast before the race on Saturday.

During the day on Friday, March 1, NASJA members have been invited to take the Mt. Washington SnowCoach (snowcat-like van) up to treeline on the mountain, outdoor activities at Great Glen Trails Outdoor Center followed by a luncheon at the newly opened Glen House Hotel. Following the lunch there will be two short presentations including the history and sustainable operation at the Glen House, and the second presentation will cover the new cross country skin skis and adjustable bindings that are currently transforming the Nordic ski world.

The Hannes Schneider race is on Saturday and NASJA members have also been invited to ski/snowboard or try some of the activities at Cranmore Mountain Resort such as the giant swing and the Mountain Coaster. The Mt. Washington Observatory Discovery Center will also be open FREE of charge in North Conway to NASJA members.

On Sunday, March 3rd, NASJA members have been invited to ski or snowboard at Bretton Woods Resort, where there will be an on-site discussion meeting at 11:00 AM about the changes on the mountain including construction of a gondola and mountain top restaurant.

The package includes lodging (at three accommodations in North Conway) for Thursday, February 28th through Saturday March 2nd, two continental breakfasts, a luncheon, a buffet dinner, trail access at Great Glen, slope access and activity pack at Cranmore, and slope access at Bretton Woods.

This program is priced at $259 and is LIMITED to 12 NASJA members. That includes:

  • Two continental breakfasts, luncheon on Friday and box lunch on Saturday, and buffet dinner on Friday. All other meals are on your own;
