Itinerary

Thursday, January 6, 2022

  • Afternoon – Arrive on your own via Denver and/or Gunnison Airports
  • Rental Car to the resort or reserve transportation through Alpine Express. Check into Grand Lodge 
  • Evening – NASJA Welcome Party at The Avalanche (CBMR base area)

Friday, January 7, 2022

  • 8 a.m. – Breakfast at the slopeside 9380 Restaurant, Elevation Hotel (lift tickets will be provided to those who do not have EPIC passes)
  • 9 a.m. – (Ski Day #1) Meet at Red Lady lift; Guest Host/Mountain Guides take us on our first runs.
  • Noon – On-mountain lunch hosted by CBMR and featuring CBMR’s new GM, Tara Schoedinger. Location: TBD
  • Evening – Dinner in town on your own; free shuttle buses available on the colorful Mountain Express buses that leave from outside the Grand Lodge every 15 minutes.  

Saturday, January 8, 2022

  • 8 a.m. Breakfast on your own
  • 9 a.m. (Ski Day No. 2) Meet at Red Lady lift.
  • Complimentary ski lesson e.g. Ski & Ride School or CB Steeps (tips not included)
  • Lunch on your own
  • Evening – Dinner with the Mayors: Ian Billick of Crested Butte and Janet Farmer of Mt. Crested Butte. Location TBD.
  • (As an alternative, enjoy a complimentary day at Crested Butte Nordic, including rentals)

Note: Guests stay in room of Active Press. One Active Press guest is welcome to NASJA party, lessons, lifts and rentals and all sponsored meals.   


Next Steps:

  1. Go to https://www.nasja.org/explore-nasja/events/registration-crested-butte-media-trip-2022/ and register and pay via credit card by Dec. 20.  The registration fee of $95.00 covers one Active Press participant and one guest. Registration fee is refundable up until seven days in advance (Dec. 31).
  2. After the registration is reviewed and approved by the NASJA Executive Secretary you will be provided with a specific link for reservations at the Grand Lodge Hotel. 
  3. If needed, make your own airfare reservations. The Gunnison airport is closest (GUC). Otherwise, for those driving from Denver, it’s about a 4-1/2 hour trip each way on dry roads. Driving directions will be provided upon request.
