NASJA East
An organization of authors, photographers, videographers
and broadcasters who report on skiing, snow boarding and related topics.

Who We Are
Founded in 1963, as the Eastern Ski Writers Association (ESWA) NASJA-East is the Eastern regional chapter of the North American Snow Sports Journalists Association, known as NASJA. Membership includes press, corporate, honorary press and retired press. Press members include writers, photographers, artists, videographers and broadcasters.

Mission Statement
NASJA-East is a community of professional snowsports correspondents whose mission is to promote and sustain the highest standards of snowsports journalism.

What We Do
We are a group of people who love visiting mountain resorts and telling the public about our adventures. Whether it is a story about skiing or riding at a mountain, snowshoeing in the woods or cross-country skiing at a Nordic center, our members have written about it or made a film to inspire people to get out there and enjoy winter.

Members have written books about the sport, made movies or video productions about ski and snowboard stars and produced thousands of articles about recreational activities on snow. Some of our members have won awards for their work, including the annual Harold Hirsch awards, organized by NASJA. Stories have ranged in coverage on regional resorts, Western locales and international mountains in Europe, South America and New Zealand.

NASJA-East members meet face-to-face and online. We hold four to five meetings a year, most of them during the winter at mountain resorts. For the 2014-15 winter season, we have three on-snow weekend meetings scheduled at a variety of resorts in Maine and New Hampshire. The annual NASJA conference will be held in Quebec in February 2015.
